I have always bought new rims with my new tires but I'm thinking of saving some money and just mounting the tires on the factory Z rims. I've heard that it is harder to breakdown the factory rims and tires.

I thought I could save some money and do it myself with my old boss' tire machine. It was way not worth it. The factory uses a glue to seal the tire to the bead and it is a bitch to break. The stock rims are fairly strong and are ok to reuse.

Use wd-40 it will make the seal softer so it will be easy to take the tire of the rim,i do it all the time..

Tried that too and didn't help. We had to run about 10psi and pop the bead. Then fill it with enough air to not reseal the bead and pop the other side. Once you have seperated the glue it is a piece of cake.

DO YOU USE A TIRE MACHINE WHEN TRYING TO BREAK THE BEAD? HOW CAN I DO THIS AT HOME? IT TOOK ME AN HOUR LAST WEEKEND TRYING TO BREAK THE BEAD ON BOTH SIDES. I LAID THE RIM WITH TIRE ON A BOARD AND DROVE MY TRUCK OVER THE TIRE AND PARKED IT THERE. I SPRAYED SOLVENT IN BETWEEN THE RIM AND TIRE AND EVENTUALY BROKE IT FREE. THERE MUST BE AN EASIER WAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS.

Honestly, your best bet is to just buy a set of wheels. Look around at places and try to buy a package deal. If you happen to pop a tire or something you can just run back to the house swap the tires out and be riding in 10 minutes.
