I have a '99 LTF 500 Quadrunner that I bought new, the bike has little over 2,000 miles on it. I have been having problems shifting out of 1st into 2nd it seems like the trans or the shifter is in a bine, it's gradually getting worse and on down shifting sometimes the shifter will go in between 2 gears and go into neutral.Has anyone ever had this problem or maybe know how to fix the problem? I wouldn't give my Quadrunner up for any other bike, because my bike is made for work and play.

roc-ron...I have the '00 Quadrunner, and the problem that I have had in shifting, is common in all manual trannys.
Sometimes, when I stop the Quad without down shifting, it is hard to get it into neutral without shaking the machine back and forth to relieve the tension on the gears. I believe that it is because of the auto clutch.
I asked the dealer, and he said that if the idle is to high, or to low, it will effect the ease of shifting.
As far as your problem goes, I think it sounds like a linkage problem, I not sure though. I think that it deserves some attention from someone who is familiar with the tranny, have you taken it to a dealer ??
