Suzuki's Prairie Killer
I just read the article in DW about the new Suzuki Ute. Although DW has been terrible with spreading false information, the fact that they seemed to have gotten this info while visiting the Suzuki facility adds some credibility to their story (maybe).
Hopefully they will offer a locker front, EFI, GPS, 6 gal fuel tank and decent tires.
Any other ideas?

It will take some doing to knock off the P-650. I'm not saying it impossible.... but the others have tried and failed. That v-twin is an incredible motor not too menton the numerous features it offers. People said the rincon would eat the prairie....that was a fun piece of hype
good luck suzuki...maybe that will force kawi to release thier 700 prairie....

If they would drop the motor from the SV 650 into a quad chassis, they would have it close. One of my co-workers races a Suzuki GSX-R 750 and has gone up against a couple SV's. With a few mods, they can get close to 90 hp. Now of course this is in a Crotch-Rocket and not a quad, but the motor is there with tons of potential.

The P650 does have the best Power - Weight ratio, and the sportiest handling of the big boys but thats about it. If thats what you want in a big 4X4 then its the best, but thats not what everybody wants.
Its stock tires help with its low weight and sporty handling but are useless in the mud.
When you boil it all down its realy the 650cc V-Twin that we all love about it.
If another manufacturer makes a big 4X4 with a powerfull twin thats lighter then 650 pounds with IRS and good handling I think the P650 would lose a lot of sales to it.
Go for it Suzuki. I'd most likely trade the Sportsman in for one.

I do think the big V-twin is a huge factor..but it shouldn't overshadow some of the other features ie: seal rear wet brake system, front locker that works at any speed, It is an extremely well balanced machine for a big bore. the independent rear would be nice to some but the solid rear keeps it sporty...
