i just put dunlop radial tires on the front of my lt and i have 2 different douglas wheels on it a 190 and a 160 and the 160 (aluminum) was up first and it took no time at all before i put the tire iron through it and i was shocked i mean **** these are artermarckmet so on to the 190 and i didnt put a hole through that but it did get turned into an egg so buy ITP only or stock im not advirtising for itp i just think douglas are weak and expensive!!

 

I dont see how,....on my DS I have .160 on the back and front and bust big air.......no flat spots or warps. I change tires often......never harmed...I dont know how you guys hurt your wheels....Ive never bent a wheel. NEVER. Even when I had .125 on the back of my Warrior....big air?..no problem! Never a flat spot or warp

 

i've got douglason my 02 and love them.but i believe their r lemons in everything u buy.

well idont think these are lemons because all 3 of the douglas wheels i have are out of round

 

I put Holeshot XCT's on Douglas .190 rims. I couldn't be any happier with them. I ride my Scrambler real hard through the rocky mountains of Tennessee. I've never had a dent or a ding, and my tires are still in great shape. Sorry you got some bad ones, but NOT all are junk.

 

Aftermarket rims never hold up as well as stock...nor are they near the quality, stock tires generaly have a better rolled bead as well more mass...I have had my share of bent and destroyed douglass and ITP wheels, try huge amounts of air pres.-some people are destined to break parts

Sorry, but NO WAY are stock steel rims anywhere near as good as 190 aluminum. NO WAY. Also, the 6 and 4 ply tires are far better than the 2 ply stock ones. I don't understand where you are coming from with that.

 

Stock rims (we're talking aluminum rims here) ARE stronger than the regular Douglas or ITP rims because they have a rolled lip. Simple as that. Aluminum is aluminum for the most part. It's the way it is designed that makes the stock rims stronger. There are Douglas rims with a rolled edge and they are good I guess.

Tom18801, just because you damaged your rims don't make them junk. Maybe you are harder on them then most people is all? If you want strong get stock or Douglas Ultimate rims.

 

i dont think im any harder on them that anyone else i dont even jump with them and also the whells are out of balance from the factory!

 

Well, you said you put a tire iron through the .160 rims??? and the .190s are egg shaped??? How did those things happen??? I'm pretty confused on this one.
