Default LT250 info?

I want to know more info about the LT250. Such as combinations that work well for the bike (pipes, cylinders, carbs, suspension,etc.). How does the bike compare to the Honda 250r? What are the LT's weakpoints and strongpoints? Where can I get more online info on the bike? (personal websites, manufacturers specs, parts, etc.) Thanks

The later models are almost the same bike as a 250r. An 87 or newer has a powervalve and 6 gears. Pre 87 are genarally cheaper but otherwise an 87+ is a better bike.

Ive only had mine a month (86), so far no problems at all. I removed the air box lid and gained a little power mostly low end. Im going to get a FMF pipe and maybe a coolhead if they fit pre 87 quadracers. I also just shaved the stock head .020". I will hopefully be able to ride this weekend and will post the results of that.

85-86 models:
FMF Fatty Pipe & Silencer
FMF Reeds
K/N Airfilter (remove air box lid)
Pwk 35mm carb.
Works suspension

87-92 models:
Paul Turner or LRD Pipe System
Pryimid Rad valve (made by duncan racing)
K/N Airfilter (remove air box lid)
Pwk 38mm carb.
Hinson Basket
Cool Head w/ 20cc dome (race fuel only)
Elka shocks

The better power less handling (vs the Honda 250r). The frame I felt is the weakest point on the quad. I've broke 2 frames racing, but the engine is very strong. I feel other than the frame being week the tie rods broke a good bit too. I feel if biult right this machine could dominate on the track pending on mechanic and rider.

Check out Dirtwheels on other mags for places to buy parts. Also Hear is a couple links.
Duncan
LRD
East Coast ATV
Suzuki EOM Parts Finder
HSD Racing (this one is a must if you plan on racing. They update the frame goemetry so it's like the Honda in the front end)

I hope this helps
