Interesting post RinCon4LiFe. I live in International Falls and am thinking about getting a sport quad for the same reason. We never get any snow but I think a studded sport quad would be fun on Rainy Lake, Kabetogama Lake, Namakan Lake, and Crane Lake as well as the miles of frozen rivers up here. I'm researching the sport quads and might purchase soon.

RinCon- I have ridden my buddies' Z and it really moves for a 400cc machine but it doesn't have the bottom end of my Rappy. I would say that if you're over 200 pounds in weight (like me!) you might be a little better off with the Raptor, but maybe I'm just a little biased. All in all the Z is a pretty good quad from what I've seen.

I live In Dubois Pennsylvania and I just bought a new Z about a month ago. I love it although we get snow which we have about 2-3 inches here right now. I've rode mine in the snow and its awesome. It moves pretty good. I can do hillclimbs around here like nothing. I would suggest getting one. And if you don't buy a Z my next suggestion would be a 400ex.

The raptor is heavier and you feel every bit of it. The Raptor has better power even compared to a 400 that has a pipe and filter. If you look at my signature you will see my reference and with a few friends who have Raptors, I have experience there as well.
As Extremeraptor said, if you are a big guy you will like the Raptor better but if you are a big guy and prefer the best, forget the Raptor and get a DS650.

My girlfriend and I have had our Z's from the first week they were released.

Things I like:
Just about everything.

Things I don't:
Stock swing arm skid is garbage, add in cost of new one right away, the plastic one won't last.
um, I think that's about it other than not having more clearance under the swing arm, but hey, this ain't no utility machine.

By the way, the axle issues that some have had are mostly past issues and have been solved with warrantee. Suzuki has stepped up to the plate in these cases and replaced them with better ones, which they are currently putting on the new models. This quad is awesome and the motor is bulletproof. Get one, and don't look back. Except to see those in your dust.
