If you go much, if any, bigger on the tires. The King Quad will be a real dog! I used to own a King for 3 years and they are abit underpowered, but with all the gear choices it does the job. I would put a tire on the same size, but just get a tire with decent tread as compared to what the factory dunlops have. Just my opinion!

If you expect that four-wheeler to turn those tires then dream on. You would have to drive around in low range all the time unless you have an engine kit in it.

All these posts are right on the money. Best thing you can do for tires in a king quad is to go with a more agressive tread in the stock size. You'll probably find that the knobbier tire will give you a little more ground clearance. I added about 1" when I put on some Titans.

The King just doesn't have the power for oversize tires and even if it did you'd be cutting deep into the 4" or so of suspension travel. Since it's strictly a utility bike, I've never seen any performance mods.

If you want to go fast in a King Quad you've got three choices:

1) Find a really steep hill and go down it.
2) Get somebody on a big Griz. or Sportsman to push you. or
3) Strap your KQ to your trailer, hop on, and have someone drive you down the interstate. LOL

I've owned a 87 KQ and a 97 KQ.Do yourself a favor and forget about going any bigger in tire height. The stock tires on the KQ suck.On the 97 KQ,I have 12 wide rears and 8 wide fronts.I have Super Swamper Vampires,WOW,what a differance in traction.Im with these guys,if you want more power, buy a bigger cc quad.===BILL
