Default Tranny Problems w/ Z400 :(

Well, I went out for a ride today, and will riding around in a small pit my Z got stuck in second gear.
The shifter would not move into any other gear. So I shut it off, and pulled in the clutch, and rolled the quad back and forth; and it freed up.

I later realized that reverse no longer works either, and when I put it into first gear the shifter sticks in a downward position, and you have to help it spring up w/ your boot. It does still shift into all forward gears though, but it feels different int the 1 N 2 area???

Anyone else have any transmission problems w/ theirs?? Or do I have THE WORST luck as usual????

Thanx,
ROB

Thats the first tranny prob I have heard of, and I've been looking at all the Z's problems that get posted in here and the the other site since they came out. I hope thats still under warranty or you might be looking at a big repair bill on a tranny, just ask the Raptor boys.
Maby you'll get lucky and its just an electrical problem with the reverse switch.
Good luck.

I thought the reverse switch was electrical also...

BUT, I checked it out, and it is actually a mechanical cable that pulls a reverse shaft down near the shifter lever.

I will probablly have to call the dealer.. YUCK

sounds to me like a bent shift fork ,easy to happen if you land on the shifter instead of your peg....I hope not
