I agree with everybody else...buy the Z/KFX400 now. Even if Yamaha introduces a new 400 contender you certainly don't want the first year model. Look at the Raptor with all its initial problems and look way way way back when the shee came out they had some problems and was upgraded right away. Yamaha never gets it right the first time.
I'm not bashing Yamaha, hell I used to think that they were head & shoulders above the other three and nobody could sell me anything else. I was wrong!

I just don't trust Yamaha to design a good handling frame!! All their past designs have has some kind of problem. Raptor-to tall and top heavy, way to narrow, a bit on the heavy side. Banshee-exciting engine, but the suspension doesn't match the power potential. Warrior-big and heavy, and handles big and heavy! YAMAHA GETS IT 90% RIGHT, BUT IT IS THAT OTHER 10% THAT KILLS YOU. Honda gets it (handling) 100% right the first time!! As for Suzuki, the Z400 is just a more exciting engine in a 400EX frame.

Yamaha certainly does more for the aftermarket than any other brand, even Honda. It takes about $1500+ to get a Raptor into shape. SO the rumor of a 450 sport quad is exciting, but I sure wouldn't
"Bank" on it, or give up riding something REAL waiting around for it to happen. A true MX style 450 sport quad will be really exciting when it gets here. Hopefully it will be ready to play, and not in need of $1500+ worth of aftermarket to make it competitive....
