Default Gotta ?

I have an 86 230S Quadsport. It runs good when it is cold, but does not run near as strong when it warms up. I checked the compression today while it was cold and it topped out at 125. Too low? I am thinking about rebuilding the top end. Does anyone know what the compression should be?

From the Repair Manual I got the following numbers:

Compression:
Standard: 171-228 psi
Limit: 142 psi.

Assuming that you mean 125 psi, then I'd say you have to rebuild. Go out and get yourself a Clymer repair manual for the quadsport, or better yet, search around Ebay and your local shop for the official Suzuki manual. Its a lot better and more detailed than the Clymer one cause its the one the Suzuki dealers actually get so they can service the machines. Its really comprehensive. More expensive, but its worth it.

Good luck with your quadsport.

Oh, and one more tip, use a good title, not "Gotta", so that people will actually read your post and then help you out when you have questions.

try a valve adjustment before you rip that pig apart...may net you some more ridding time on that piston
