Gas Gas is doing it. i've seen one in person at the seattle motorcycle show and have changed my mind on buying a Z400 to save my money for the Wild HP300 2-stroke, virtually race ready quad.... i really just like it becuase it has a cool gas cap... that was thier only complaints.... which realistically aren't much.
the steering stiffness may be just a result of thier engineers setting it up more for street use.
however, i thnk that once some of our suspension gurus get thier hands on it, the travel issue will be a thing of the past.

If I remember right the GasGas has large body shocks, were the Moto has small body (most race shocks are small body), the Moto has 11" Travel and the GasGas has 10" (The GasGas is also heavier), The Moto also has either Dual-rate or Triple-rate springs cant remember, and the GasGas is only Single-Rate,
Personally I would rather have the Moto shocks
