Default Vinson DC power outlet problem

Hey Vinson riders,
I have heard that the power outlet on the Vinson has only a 5amp fuse and it blows alot. Is this a big problem and has Suzuki fixed it for the 2003 models.

Thanks!!

They have fixed it for 2003 by uping the amps to 10 (I think). I have run a "Q" beam and a tire inflator off of it with no problems. Be careful though, I forgot that it is a power outlet and not a cigarette lighter outlet, the difference being that it is always "on". Don't leave those accessories plugged in without the engine running.

I have a 2002 Vinson with the 5A fuse. It blew almost always when I used a 12V tire inflator. I tried a 10A and it doesn't blow now. I can only hope that the safety factor designed into the circuitry doesn't cause damage elsewhere.

I'm wondering if Suzuki did indeed change the circuitry to handle 5 extra amps or they just used too small of a fuse initially. Anyone know?

Thanks,
Mark
