i have an 87' quad sport and the carb fills up with gas and gets fludded with out even using the gas. i tried buying a new valve and needle but that didnt work what could be wrong? and also which way di the floats go on with the bubble end facing down or the flat part.

I think the problem is still in the carb.. are you sure you have the needle and seat installed properly with the float? Maybe you should invest in a service manual.. It would save you tons of headaches if your planning on doing repairs by yourself

as for the float.. I am not sure what your asking about the bubble of on the float.. but general rule of thumb is.. turn the carb upside down.. the float should be level with the carb bowl houseing..holding the housing level. adjust the float accordingly.. don't PUSH the float down onto the needle and seat to adjust it.

also.. check all the jets for looseness and or blockage.
