Default Disconnecting rev limitor

I just bought a 2003 Kodiak 4x4 that to my disappointment came with a rev limitor on the reverse. I tried in the Yamaha forum for suggestions about removing the limitor. I got no response until someone told me that there was a similar request on the Suzuki forum. he said it was an identical procedure. Can i just switch out the ignition with a 2002 ignition to do away with this. Is there an easy way to disconnect without buying a new ignition?Any help would be appreciated.

Default Disconnecting rev limitor

I find it rather funny someone would cross over from the Yamahaa site to the Suzuki Tech. forum. I do not know why they have to put these things on , why not just have a push button is disable it. I had a posting to get rid of the reverse rev. limiter for a 2003 LT-Z400, do not know if it is the same. Just search for rev in this forum and you will find it.

Do you have a push button to over ride the rev limiter?
