looking for dyno numbers on lt500r
#12
It has blown up before. The wrist pin broke apart and blew up the top end. I had LRD fix it and had it put on the Dyno and the HP curve is still climbing at 7000 rpm. I can run it wide open but not pegged and not shifting. I don't know for how long I can run it wide open for. I ride it like any other 2 stroke but the power does not let off to tell someone to shift.

The Trinity pipe is mainly a top end pipe so rejetting is neccessary. Switching pipes back and forth will be a real pain though. As the Trinity pipe is one of the last good pipes being manufactured, it's definitely something to seriously consider before they discontinue it. Especially as LRD cut us off and these bikes are getting parted out daily (i.e. the market is dieing off).

The Trinity pipe would be the way to go... It may take some time to get and they may not make the first one to fit, but when they get it right you will be happy.. I am on my second pipe and am still wateing for the third muffler.
Don't take this the wrong way. The people at Trinity are very helpful and make a fast ZILLA.....
Trinity has a grate dino room. I have never had them put my Zilla on it but I have spent some time in their shop. I am not into the dino thing. I just want my bike to run and run fast!!!
Good luck...

The LRD pipe I believe is the one that is a mid to top end pipe. It says 10 rear wheel hp gain on top. I searched for it on yahoo and found very few sites that offered it and told very little about it other than what I said. I run the fmf pipe, and it is not a top end motor by any means. I believe the fmf is a good low end to mid pipe with good smooth power. My power secret for my quadzilla is a fresh top end. I have rebuilt mine every season. I'm sure its not necessary, but I notice a power drop after just one season...usually the power that drops off is its top end rev. When I got my LT500, the top end was 5 years old and it started hard. I raced my freinds banshee and we were pretty close. After I rebuilt it, and installed the fmf pipe we raced. First gear was close, second gear I pulled away slowly, third gear I was long gone. Anyway, this is what the quadzilla is all about. My only mods is a FMF pipe, a fresh top end, and I cleaned up the ports on the jug myself. I ride the LT with a banshee, a raptor, a ds650, a 250R and a 400ex. They all admit that my quad is in a class of its own. My banshee friend is the closest with pipes, Cool head, K@N's, carbs, reeds, porting and 12 tooth gearing. Still 3rd gear comes around and I'm gone.
Now, where the quadzilla is beat is an extensively modified banshee. Theres just to many aftermarket kits and hardcore performance parts for the banshee and all you can do with the zilla is port it and add the bolt ons and hope for the best. So, if your made of money and want the fastest quad, get a banshee and spend a few thousand in motor mods.
If you want to continue with the quadzilla, I would pull the head and look for any scoring in the cylinder. It can even happen to a new rebuild if something got by your filter or it was not clean enough when reassembled. Hone or bore your cylinder, replace the piston add the top end LRD pipe, make sure your jetting is on spot and thats all you can do. Ride it.
I suggest you change your signature. If you cant respect the legend of the LT500, because of your poorly tuned quad then sell it and buy something slower.

example of power mine has is the only gear it can pull the tiers in is 1st and a little in 2nd i guess i am just mad at the money i spent on it and knowing most quads can at least pull 2nd easy. i hope this explanes my sig.
