How can you tell what year zilla you have?

How can you tell what year zilla you have?
The eighth digit from the end of the VIN wil tell you the year of almost every vehicle made after 1977.
1985-F
1986-G
1987-H
1988-J(they skip letters that look like numbers like I)
1989-K
1990-L
1991-M
and so on
They used Y in 2000 skipped Z it looks like a 2 and started with a #1 in 2001
This works on cars, atvs, boats, just about everything

sandneck, Is there a VIN on the motor? I didnt see one. I thought the VIN was usually on the frame. If it is where? Thanks in advance.
LT250RSuperstar, The bike came with an aftermarket chrome moly frame. Dont know where it is from or who made it. But I am getting ready to sell it.
