does anyone hate there z400/kfx400

Yeah, actually, rider for rider, the Z is just a little faster than a 400EX. The 440 should beat the Z w/ riders being equal. I try not to say too much in case Honda ever releases the much-in-demand crf450ex or whatever it is gonna be called. Honda makes great stuff, just time for them to step up since everyone else is. i am not brand loyal. I like all machines, they all have pluses. But I do think for the average rider across the country, the Z is prolly the best as far as reliability, performance, and value right now.

im not brand loyal..i cant belive i own a suzuki..but ..if the shoe fits...wear it..rite....honda made the best quad ever it was the 250r...times change ....the great thing about suzuki is it has reverse ...liquid cooled..and its a little faster.and its the same price as the 400ex..plus about 700/1300 cheeper than the raptor..

if i could do it all over again, i woulda taken the 6500$ to buy my Z, and get a LSR chassis and a CRF 450 motor, then put all my 250R stuff on that rahter then making conversion kits for the Z, the frame is CRAP! and the build on them isnt that great.

Well for the record I have no regrets in buying my Z400! I Love it! When I bought mine I had done enough research to know that it was not a race ready quad right out of the box nor would I have expected it to be with the cost only being $6,000 out the door!
It amazes me as to how many people bitch about this and try to trash this quad! You don't have a clue! Out of all the Z/KFX's sold there is probably only 10% that are actually raced in Formal Competition! For those 10% most of them know that this is a great building block and why should the rest of us have to pay more for the Z/KFX if it was produced as a Factory Race Quad?
Quit your whining and just build the quad into what you want it to be! Not so difficult to understand in my book! After all I like the idea that I have a great building block and that I didn't have to spend $10,000 to get it!
I have said before that if I had to do it all over again I would have bought 2 Z400's so that I would always have one to ride while I experimented with the other!

We dont need a big bore kit. i have pics of me beatin Zs at my local sod drags when my quad didnt havea big bore kit. I think that you Z owners have been reading Dirt Wheels to much. I have to admit that Suzuki did build a nice Quad but the need to do some work on them like the weak frame. They are pretty fast but not that fast i have beaten and seen them beaten my times buy a stock 400ex.

The frames are not any weaker than any other stock quad. The ones breaking are being ridden abnormally hard when most people re-inforce their frame if they ride that hard. And riders ability being equal, and with a good, flawless start by each, a stock 400EX cannot touch a stock Z400. Plus where I ride, if you don't have reverse, you get left behind!

I only ride with EX's and I beat them pretty well when I have the opertunity , they are much better riders the I am , so me passing them has a lot to do with the quad.
On the straights I walk passed them , not by much but still walk passed them
On the trail its back in forth but again they are more experienced on quads then I.
Ride one I think you would be impressed

My sponsor has a Z, and...im sorry to say but they are slow. Compared to the 250r's ive ridden. Nice bikes, they feel tight in all, but you guys throwing the "fast" word around is everything but a joke.
