Default LT500 Clutch adjustment

My LT500 clutch doesn't engage until more than 3 quarters release on the clutch lever. I have adjusted the lever by turning the adjuster all the way in which allowed the counter shaft on the clutch to fully engage the clutch but I still can't seem to get it to engage sooner. I have even adjusted the cable down at the clutch and can't get it to adjust more. It doesn't slip for me even in 5th so my assumption is that maybe the springs are week or the clutch is getting on it's last leg. Any advise on this?

Sounds like an adjustment problem... mebbe to tight?

With the cable properly adjusted.. you should have a little slack with the clutch released. About the width of a nickle between the perch and the handle. If not, it's too tight! This can fry your clutch if ran this way..

The lower adjustment is used to keep a full range of adjustment at the lever.
