86 Racer Stock Gearing Speed?
#1
I am BRAND SPANKING NEW to the Quadracer world, and would like to get a few questions answered. I bought a 1986 LT250R Quadracer, it's my first quad EVER, and it's damn fast, to me anyways. It has been bored .030 over, Weisco Racing piston, jetted 33mm Mikuni carb, FMF Reeds, FMF Fatty Gold Series pipe, and PowerCore silencer, K&N filter, and thats about all worth mentioning, a few other things here and there. The gearing is 11/42. I want to go back to the stock gearing of 12/42 ASAP, just revs up too damn fast on straights. It was rebuilt by the guy I bought it from for track racing, but I don't race and prob never will.
What do you think the HP is first of all with these mods, and second, what do you think the top speed is with 11/42 and 12/42 gearing? I know you guys probably have heard these questions before, but I'm just too lazy to search all the threads for the answers. Thanks!

Mine did upper 60's with 12/42 gears and lower 70's with 13/42 so your probably running mid 60's with 11/42.
I dont know about HP but at a wild guess I would say 25hp stock maybe 30hp on yours.

Thanks Tom for the info. I might just go with the 12 or 13 tooth then. Mid 60's is fast, but I gotta try to keep up with my buddies Banshee....which does 70+...LOL...Thanks again.
