Just picked up another Zilla.....
#1
Yep, I just couldn't help it, a white and blue '90, 100% stock except for the chain and rear tires. I was down in Waverly, VA., when I spotted it out in front of a small gas station, 4-sale, $2500 or best offer, so I dropped my trailer where I was unloading, got $2k Western Unioned to me, bob tailed back up and offered it to the old guy at the cash register. He called his grandson, said he'd take the $2K, so we set some planks up against my tractor and strapped the Zilla down in front of the 5th wheel, then off I went to where my trailer was. The forklift operator said the foreman would probably bitch if I blasted around the yard on the quad, but he threw it into the trailer when I was empty for me, though. Anyway I got reloaded and headed north, had the ole lady meet me up to the shop with the pick-up to get me, then off I went to the homestead.
I got home Friday afternoon with it and by friday night the frame was stripped and ready for sandblasting. I'm thinkin this one's gonna be mostly to look at with a longer swing-arm, widened axle, probably some chrome or nickel plated aftermarket A-arms, fender brackets, stem, bars, etc. I have the rebuilt to better than new 87 to ride, the lady has a Predator (thankfully, she paid for that one), so I think this will just be a project to enjoy buiding and to have to keep for a few years.
But anyway, for 2 grand, the entire bike is just in awesome shape. The underneath has no nicks or gouges, the frame is straight without any extra welds, all the cables are good and pull fairly easily, I got a ton of spare parts for the 87 since I wanna replace a lot on the 90, the piston is aftermarket but stock bore, and other than that, the tires, chain, and fenders, this is the way Suzuki had it rollin' off the production line. I will definitely post some pics when I get started on it......Latah
