Default lt250r vs RM80-100

Bing, You’re almost making my point for me.

Lt250r=324lb ----------------------- 86lt250r=mid 20's hp maybe upper 20's

RM80=something like 150lb-------RM80=28hp

Now you slow down and think about it. If all those #s were correct, an lt250r would have no chance against a RM80 no less a RM125.

The weight is easy to verify so its just a question of realistic hp claims.

If a RM80 has 28hp than a RM125 would have at least 35hp maybe 40hp. If that was so, than an lt500 wouldn’t have a chance no less a nearly stock 5 speed non power valve lt250r.

Here is another way to think about it. If a RM80 produces that many hp per cc stock, than a quad motor could be modified to produce the same hp per cc on pump fuel.

RM80 28hp/80cc = 0.35hp per cc

Blaster 200cc X 0.35hp = 70hp

LT250r 250cc X 0.35hp = 87.5

Banshee 350cc X 0.35 hp = 122.5hp

LT500r 500cc X 0.35hp = 175hp

Does that sound likely to you?

You people are crazy to think that any 85 or 80cc bike has 28hp. They have about 18-20hp and that is a lot considering that they are so light. 80cc bikes, 125's as well have no torque whatsoever. A late model 80cc has only like 10-14 ft. lbs of torque 125's have about 20 ft. lbs and a little over 30hp.... 250's have about 30ft. lbs. and about 45 hp.... All these bikes are late model of course. The new one's are way torquier than the old because of improvements and more advanced powervalves but no way do they have near a 250's amount of torque. An 80cc wouldn't stand a chance but a 125 late model would smoke any 250cc quad. It would also eat a banshee for lunch. I saw a kid smoke a stock banshee (2000) on a lightly modded 87 cr125. 80's have such short gears as well and no low end.... they bog so bad unless you got a little light kid on them. My lt has tons of torque cause of the powervalve. I even think my modded lt could beat my stock 86 rm 125 with its .60 over wiseco and boyeseen reeds... in fact i know it can beat it (LT is modded of course and is a 92) and my 86 rm 125 is real fast. Stock (86 rm) it has like 24.3 hp and 12.7 ft. lbs. of torque. Go to[*]www.georgiaoffroad.com for dirtbike specs.
-Nick...
If 80's were that fast no one would ride 125's!!!

A rm 85 has about 18-20 hp stock, ltrider is correct. The newer 85s do have powervalves, and the 85 will beat my raptor for the beginning portion of the race, but the raptor will surpass it before the end of the race most of the time.

The Lt250R (85-86) atleast, weigh 296lbs. It says it right in the manual. Dry weight=296lbs. when ever they weight quads/bikes its dry weight. Like in cars, theyll be bragging it weighs only 3,000lbs, but when they test it its 3,400lbs.

So its 296lbs not 320+

not to be cocky but my bike can usually beat any quad pretty easily.. im sure a 80 can win.. a 80 can usually smoke anything out of the hole.
