Default 2003 Eiger any problems?

Greetings. I am getting a 2003 Eiger and they are trying to sell me the extended warranty. At $500 that ain't cheap. Has anyone had any major problems with their Eiger? Thanks, Roger

Back Firing, The Motor Gets Even More Noiser The More You Ride It. Mine Has 2,700 Miles On It, It's Embarissing To Ride, It Sounds Like It's Going To Blow Up At Any Time ! Noisest Motor I've Ever Heard.

The Eiger is unchanged since it's introduction and has shown to be rock solid. I've had one warrantee issue with mine - An incorrectly installed lockwasher on the auto-clutch shaft causing a knocking noise - but it showed up right away.

Other than non-warrantee things like a couple of flats, my only large repair expense was having to re-bore after a run in with a 3 1/2' deep muck-hole scratched the cylinder walls.

An extended warrantee is great for peace of mine if you have the extra cash but the Eiger is on the high end of the reliability food chain.

My eiger has been great, i adjusted the valves but they still tick a lil and thats about it for the noise, other than that the damn thing is fast with 26" Super Swamper Vamps and pulls great in mud and about anything you put in front of it. My Engine performs good and runs great but yea the ticking valves can get on your nerves but most OHC are going to tick whatever it is. If you are planning on getting a Eiger dont worry you wont be sorry! Its a great machine.

The Valves Won't Stay Adjusted, The Noise In Mine Ain't Valves. And I Just Putt Around,You Know Take Care Of It. The Biggest Problem Is The Trany Is Geared Way To Low, Makes The Motor Labor To Much, The Motor Ain't Going To Last Long Like That.......

Well you must bought a factory defect because mine has been good. And it is not geared low thats why it will run close to 55mph for a 400cc thats good, and thats why they made a low gear range.

Mine is rock solid and is more dependable than my wifes Honda recon ES, Dravy you must of bought a lemon. Its a good choice EigerRider, it has won most of the shootouts its in, the engine is good enough for Arctic Cats to use.
