I own a 1986 230 quadsport and its pretty fast but not fast enough , i am rebuilding the whole quad so any suggestions would help.
And 1 more thing do u think it will out run a new z-250?

 

Thats the easiest question iv seen, just drop your zilla motor in there.

 

yeah how bout it , i was thinking about it but then i fiquered the zilla frame was better for it , lol

 

ya but it would be one hell of a sleeper. Nobody would know what hit them. But for real I put a fmf pipe on mine, along with a k+n, and jet. This alowed me to put a little taller gear in it and stil have good accel.

 

What type of Fmf did you put on it, and i couldnt find a jet kit for mine , if thats what ya mean

 

I just got done building a 230 for my brother in law. I put in a 245cc 11:1 comp piston,web full race cam,hot rod,ported the head,3mm bigger valves, 29mm carb and a cobra pipe. This baby flat out rips compared to what it used to. We are going to lengthen the swing arm a hair next week. Shes a little wheelie happy now. But she'll take a 300ex like it wasnt even running. Now its time to upgrade the shocks. Anyone know if longer A arms are available for the 230?

 

id say put it in yr pickup truck and drive around the block. =)
