Default Z400 cons???

Hey,

I'm trying to decide which quad I want to get.
Could you please list the cons, problems, defects, etc. on the 2003 Z400.

Thanks

Default Z400 cons???

Well so far I haven't had any problems with my Z. I know some people have had problems with cracked frames above the shocks but they don't seem to be a big problem. Ant other problems would just be weak brake rotors but that is about it. There are many cons like good power (especially with pipe and filter), great handling, and very easy to ride. It is a great all around bike IMO.

Except for the rear axle that you WILL bend eventually...its a great ride. Smooth power...good handleing...and will go all day on a tank of gas. Works for me!!

I haven't any problems with mine. I think it is a great all around quad.

Rear rotor warps and squeeks, stock air filter has a crummy fastening system. Both are easy to replace. Overall the Z-400 is the best all around sport quad on the market!

Steering and handling aren't that great unless you get better shocks for it..

Default Z400 cons???

I think it handles pretty dang well for a stock quad. Compared to ALOT of other stock quads I've ridden it outperforms almost all of them.

Well it is like I was saying in one of my other posts - some people might like the way it handles or have never really ridden a good handling quad so they don't have anything to compare it to. Compared to other quads I have ridden I didn't care for the way it handled at all... Like I said too, I could overlook the handling quirks IF it had more power. I still don't think the suspension is better than the one on the 400EX, but that is just my opinion... I also said that neither one of those quads impressed me enough to want to go out and buy one new... If I was going to but a new quad right now I would buy either a Gas Gas or a Raptor...

There are no cons on the Z now they have fixed the frame problem as well as making the axle stronger. It's the all around quad of the year. No better reason to buy one then that.
