Z250 or Z400?

exactly... i think that the 400 wont be arm ripping power... as long as u go give it too much throttle then it will be fine for him... but ofcourse it is his decesion.. but u also must looik down the rode.. u will be growing and the z 250 may get to small... then u got to go through the whole process of selling and buying.. when u could of stayed with the 400 and had alot more experince on it.... if u plan on racing u have to get use to ur bike through all riding terrains... so u know the bike and the bike knows u

Thanks for the input so far. I am going to the dealer as soon as they get the Z250 in. Hopefully they will let me try both out but the sales guy is really trying to talk my dad out letting me get the Z400. I would of bought that last fall but then he talked my dad into waiting for the 250. I can't blame him, he is just trying to watch his own back and doesn't want to get into trouble for selling it to somebody under 16 (I was 14 then). If I can handle the power of the 400 then most likely that's what I'll be getting. If not I guess I will be getting the 250, and I'm sure my little brothers will be about the right size for it when I outgrow it.
Thanks for the advice so far...if anybody else has an opinion let me know.

Does anybody know when the Z250's will be in North Carolina. I just called the dealer and even they don't have a clue. Thats pretty sad. I think Suzuki needs to do a better job with advertising and making this stuff more public. At least they have a new sales rep in there and he is really pushing to sell the Z400's, so maybe he can talk my dad into letting me get the 400 again, except for one problem...the price. Oh well. If anybody has any clue when the Z250's will be available in NC please let me know.
Thanks

I've got both. I got the Z250 for my son who is 10 (but he's 5'2" @140lbs). He handles it quite well. I have the Z400 and have modified it. You'll be fine to gain experience with the Z250 and you can modify it for more power later. Depending on how quickly you think you'll get into racing should determine whether or not you skip right up to the Z400.

Thats a rip off on that Z250. The Z400 price is only $5700. I'm still not sure what I am getting yet. The dealership here still has no idea when they will be getting a shipment in. And RMP, have you gotten your wife her Z250 yet?
