I have a1986 lt250r. When i start it the idle is real high an when you rev it all it does is cut out what could be causing this?

did you try to put it in first gear and slow the RPM'S down until it warms up?mine does rev pretty high when its cold so i put it in first and then it slows to a perfect idle. Does this high rev slow down as it warms up ? If the high RPM'S doesn't go away then something is adjusted wrong or you have very lean jetting or premix ratio. your idle screw could be screwed all the way in or your throttle could be stuck.even your cable could be stuck ,check that everything is in proper working condition....aiight..ya get all that GOOD!
