Default Vinson Comparison

I'm going to buy a 4x4 atv within the month and I've recently taken interest in the Vinson. I would like to know how it stacks up compared to the bigger 4x4's. I know it won't be faster, but my main concern is if it's worth spending the extra $500-$1000 for a 600+ class atv. I like alot of the features of the Vinson as well as the Rincon and Prairie 650 and i'm kinda stuck on which would be the best bet. I do mostly track and trail riding.

Also, any performance specs you have on the Vinson would be appreciated (Drag and towing run times, specifically)

Thanks

The answers to all of your questions lie in an article that appeared last year in one of the ATV mags. I can't remember which one. Search the archives at the web sites of DirtWheels, ATV Action, or ATV Magazine. I'm pretty sure it was in one of those mags. It compared drag race times, handling, suspension, etc. between the Vinson, Rubicon, Grizzly, Prairie, and Bombardier.

Hope this helps.

Hey MaverickCat, I also have a 2003 vinson 5 speed. I love it. It has a ton of power. It handles and rides very nice. There were some reviews about at atvconnection and dirt wheels magazine. It was voted the best in the 500cc class. If buy one you will like it. Let us know if you do.

I too was having a hard time choosing between a bigger rig and a 500. I was worried that it wouldn't have enough power. I have been really happy with my Vinson. I saved over $1000 and I have been able to run with my Dad (he has a Grizzly) and it rides and handles great!!! Best decision (for me) that I could have made.

I just read an article in ATV Rider (?) and they ran 7 quads: AC500, Sportsman 700, Grizzly, Bomb, Prairie 650, Rincon and the Vinson, through a two day outing and rated the Vinson 3rd behind the Prairie and Rincon beating out the others although the Vinson is in a lower class. Check out the article.

My question...Does the Vinson have true 4WD? OR does it just spin three wheels? Do all four wheels spin in the mud and snow?

I've pretty much decided to go ahead with the Vinson, I was pretty hung up on the Prairie 650 for it's performance and the "No payments till 2004" glamour but the interest it too high for my taste; plus with as rough of terrain as it will be run on i'll never even come close to a top speed or have have use for the extra umph... and the Rincon had it's advantages too, but not enough for the price tag. The Vinson has more than enough rugged standard features to keep me happy and is comfortable for a rider of my size, there's not much more I can ask for.

Thanks for the information.

If you had bought the Vinson in April you could have gotten a $600 customer cash incentive. I see that they extended the Suzukifest promotion thru May, but don't know if they still have the cash. You will be happy with the Vinson. A very impressive package.
