QR500 go over 100mph w/just sprocket?
Duneaddict, I covered the wind drag factor. I may have given to much info or not organized it correctly to make my point. Here’s the simpler version.
Wind drag is why I chose my truck as an example. There is no way the drag on a lt500 at 100mph is anywhere near the drag on a full size pickup truck at 1oomph. The truck can defeat wind drag up to 113mph. The Quad has a 50% greater hp per pound ratio and a lot less drag at any given speed. So with the correct gearing it could easily achieve the same speed as the truck, which is well past 100mph.

I agree though, that its best not to go that fast. I am going to build my lt500 so that at 80mph I’m so far ahead that there is no point in going faster.
That’s what I’ve done with my lt250. It will only do 60mph, but it will get there faster than bikes that are considerably more powerful.
I find a super fast takeoff more fun than sustaining super high, life threatening speeds on any type of machine
