Vinson tie rods....
#2
I know what you mean. I smacked a tree last month and it appeared to have wasted a tie rod end. Went to the dealer and ordered a new one for $40. It came in a week later and when I pulled the wheel and started to look closer, the tie rod was just loose. I tightened it down and it has been perfect ever since. Not sure if it somehow jumped threads or just got knocked funny, but I did not have to replace it. Now I have a new one sitting on the shelf if anyone needs it.
I knew I had problems after hitting the tree because the left wheel would not turn with the right when I moved the bars. Needless to say the steering was kind of tricky getting back to the truck. You might want to pull the cotter pin and tighten them up occasionally if there is any play in your front end.
