HELP!! I Need A Left Side Case Half For a LT500!
#1
I am rebuilding a LT500 For a buddy of mines uncle. I got the thing in a big pile of parts and when going over everything i found the left side case half is broke of on the front mount by the exhaust valve. It looks like they forgot to take the nut off the stud and pried on it or somthing. I checked all over the internet and to all the parts out fits in the mags and no one has one. Please help as to where i could find one. Thanks!!

If I am not mistaken, you have to buy both halves. You can't just purchase one because it won't match the other exactly. Often, such parts are cast all in one piece and then cut in two which provides two perfectly matched halves (a small amount of extra material is cast into the center section that will be sawed away). Those old Suzuki cases may be formed differently but I doubt it.
Many performance shops can weld your old cases back together (CT racing is an example).

We have thought about welding it but would prefer a new case. I know the cases should be bought in pairs but the guy doesnt want to spend that kind of cash. I was going to get the case then have the cases matched at a machine shop($25). I have done it before on my old 500 and it worked great. And it beats the cost of 2 case halves. I have called Eastcoast and they dont have one.

Well, if you can't find one used, your only option is to buy a new set from Suzuki. They do not sell one side or the other, just as a matched set and it will probably set you back about $600. Get a DirtWheels and look in the back and call around to some of the Suzuki parts places. The good thing is with the new ones you do not have to have the bearing insert mod done. Suzuki fixed that problem awhile ago with the new cases. Good Luck.

Take a look at the date on this post. I think the owner will have sorted, or/and scrapped it by now.
