Hello my wife and I where riding at the Oregon dunes a few weeks ago with family. My brother and sister in law have 2 brand new Z-400's. I was me on my raptor and the my wife on her 400 ex and then my brother on his Z-400 racing up comp hill in Florence Oregon. It was a close race until about 10-15 feet up the hil when I blew by them both on my lizard and the my wife smoked my bro on his Z-400. not once but twice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just love it when people are bashing the 400 ex for LACK of POWER then it smokes a Z-400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All bikes are stock!!!! I just thought you guys would love to hear this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I find that very hard to beleive!

 

Your wife probaly makes a difference in power to weight ratio. She would probaly smoke your brother if she was on the Z and him on the EX.

 

Wow what a nice guy. Here on the Suzuki forum we usually stay out of these 5th grade arguements. Go back to the Kiddies Forums and rejoin your buddies. Oh and by the way, I know I hardly have a fast bike compared to some of the monsters on these forums, but I would personally love to put a Royal Vegas Beating on you anytime, anywhere with my puny Z400.

Well beleive it boys it happened not once but twice. And as for the power to weight they are about the same weight. And he did shift out of 1st, in fact I think he was in 3rd!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you susucki people don't wish to see the truth about your great and almighty Z-400 then take it for what you wish. I was there you guys where not. I just thought that you'd like to know that even though the Z-400 is a great bike and that its got all the new stuff ( water cooled, reverse new tech motor) doesn't mean that a WOMAN on a OLD AGE 400EX can't put a serious @$$ stumping on a stock for stock race up the hill.Just my 2 cents

 

He should have stayed in 2nd and let it rev out.....once it's broken in! Then the OLD AGE 400EX has no chance, guaranteed!!!

 

i don't get it. i raptor puts a wooping on a 400ex. and a raptor puts a wooping on a z-400, and people say that an ex and a z will stay close till top end and then the z puts a wooping on the ex, but i understand a raptor does about 71 mph and a ex does about 66, so for the raptor to eat both the ex and the z the z and the ex can't be all that far apart. i just don't get it. i think they have to be closer then everyone is saying. adn really all you z owners need to get off your high horse. the z isn't that specal or that ground breaking. i'm not bashing it. but you really need to lay off the ex, it's a great quad. and not all that different from the z, in fact the z is a pretty good copy. it's kinda like the ex is the z's daddy. you woudn't make say your dad is old and slow and outdated, when you're just like him only younger. would you?

 

Nobody is bashing the EX either. I haven't had one stock or piped EX beat me with or without my mods. We also don't claim that the Z is a speed demon either, but it is faster than the EX. Straight line the Z wins, on the track or the trail it's all rider ability, as with any quad. Also, if the Rappy goes 71 it gets there a he!! of alot quicker then the EX can get to 66, and that is where the race is won, not top speed.
