changing atv tires
I just changed 8 atv tires and found out that if you leave some air in the tires it makes it a whole lot easier. When we first started we let all the air out and tried to break them loose they would not budge. So we decided to leave some air in the tires then they came right off and save a lot of time and work. We used the tool from harbor freight, this one http://www.harborfreight.com/c....taf?Itemnumber=34542. So if you ever need to change tires, leave some air in them.

changing atv tires
i tried all day one time trying to break tires down using the leveling jacks under a 30ft. camper, and it lifted one side of the camper off the ground and the tires didn't even brak down. next day took the to the local tire shop and he filled them up all the way and they came right off.

I changed the stock rears to Maxis RAZRs on my YFZ-450. Was a hella pain in my a$$. I tried prying, pounding, then pounding while prying. Jumping on the sides. I even made a spoon attachment that looks like the part on tire machines at tire shops, which I used on my hydraulic press and all it did was curl the tire over.
I eventually ended up cutting out a quarter section of the tire out close to the rim lip. Then shaving the excess rubber off down to the steel chords of the belts with a utility knife and cutting the steel chords with a cut-off wheel in my 1/4" die grinder. The whole process took me 6 hours.
Next week, I gotta take a front tire off the rim to replace the rim because I hit a big rock and bent the rim. I think I might just take it to Discount Tire, which is right up the street from me, lay out the cash and save myself the headache and the save the tire too cause its only got about 8 hours on it.

Trailer Jack
We used a power tongue jack on a 24 ft enclosed trailer while it was still hooked to the truck to break the beads once...looked like three monkeys with a football but it worked nonetheless. I just changed out all four of my worn mudlites for new mudlite xls. I used the harbor freight bead breaker and the tire changer that was pictured above. Worked well you just need something sturdy to have the tire changer attached down to. You will need to put some elbow grease into it no matter what your method.
