I have a strange problem.
2006 vinson ltf 500 4x4
all stock.
The bike will go in water over the head lights just fine.. no prob. But going in mud the bike will just idle and not accelerate.
The first time this happened, I took the bike home cleaned everthing up and rerouted all the vent tubes (carb, brakes etc) up to the info cluster between the handel bars. Got the bike going and seems to run fine...
Second time out the bike still handels water fine, but again going in mud the bike dies and will only idle... NO mud got even close to the engine area or vents.
We were able to limp home using lots of choke and riding slowly. This is very odd.

Did you find out what was going on? I had something very similar happen to me this weekend. Bike got me in a mud hole, then would not get me out, would just idle. When I would give it gas it would try to die. Eventually I put it in reverse, hit the gas a few times and it backed me out. Then it would go forward fine... Very odd. I thought it might be something in the carb but it worked fine the rest of the day.
