Is it safe to store a ATV on its back for winter?
#1
I have a Honda trx90. I wish to store the quad for winter and gain a few feet of storage in my garage. I have run gas stabilzer thru the fuel system, ran the carbs dry and drained the float. Can I store the quad on its back resting on the grab bar in the back and the two rear wheels for a extended period of time ( months )? My concern is where the engine oil should sit. Thanks

ehh, if I were going to store vertical I think I would drain the gas dont know how good the seal ATV gas tanks is for direct coverage as opposed to splash, dont want it leaking all over your seat all winter. No expert here id wait for some others to chime in too but thats my gut on it

I would drain all the fluids. Start fresh in the spring. When spring comes, put a little tiny bit of oil in the cylinder and crank it over a few times before firing it up.

Drain the gas all out and she will be fine. I agree with pulling the plug and running a bit of oil into the cylinder also. Before firing it up in the spring, let it set on all fours for a while, maybe change the oil, service the air filter before filling with gas and starting it.
