Hi, I have have a Giovanni 250 Quad. I do get the thing started, but I wonder if I'm doing it in the wrong way since my batterie's almost about to run out of juice. Please post the exact steps you take to start your ATV. In the past, I turn the ignition, pull the choke switch on the handle bar all the way back, and then turn it over a few seconds, then stop, wait another few seconds, and try again. I do NOT smell any gas at this stage. I repeat the same procedure. I then give in and give it gas, and keep trying but obviously taking my 10 second break not to burn my started. It will eventually get going but like am I doing something wrong? Any advice would help.

 

There things are kinda junk but change oil to a better oil and put new spark plug in it and it should start easly like mine

 

I've been meaning to repost an answer to my original question, so here it is.

The 250cc has a choke, so turn the choke all the way, ensure that the gas is turned on under the front driver side tire flashing, ensure that you are in neutral, and it should start pretty good. I've been guilty of giving it a little gas but I'm not sure if that's needed, but it didn't seem to hurt.

On the technical side of things, I've changed the oil like others have suggested and my atv's running great so far.

For new people, you should definately invest in a trickle charger for your battery, as well as get a rechargable tire pump. At the start, I filled the tires to like 20 pounds because that's what the side of the tires said. From recent experiences, most ATV riders only put 5 pounds of air in the tires. It softens the ride, as well as gives it more grip.

I'm like 280 pounds and the Gio 250CC carries me and another person of 100 pounds no problem. I have an additional seat mounted on the back rack. If I ever wanted to carry more weight, I'd have to upgrade to a 400CC Gio Bear, but let's face it, the 250cc delivered is $1800 and the BEAR is double the price. Something to think about for the future.
