Default What did I do & how do I correct it?

I was in the process of changing the engine oil on my Kazuma Panda 100 and I removed the wrong plug. The plug I removed was on the lower front left side. When I unscrewed it, a spring was attached to it. Then a cylinder about 2 inches long with a hole in it dropped down. I managed to get all assembled and found the correct drain plug. After draining the oil, I put in a quart of 20-50w oil. I started the engine, but I now hear a noise I had not heard before changing the oil. What did I remove and how can I correct the noise?

First thing I would do is find out what you removed the first time............ maybe whatever it is was not put back in correctly....

What I removed appeared to be the oil drain plug. When it came out it had about a two - three inch spring attached to it. No oil came out so I realized I had removed the wrong plug. When I started to replace the plug, I noticed a cylinder about 1/4" diameter and about 2" long had dropped down. It did not fall completely out as part of the engine mount stopped it. Upon examination, the cylinder had a machined hole in it. I pushed the cylinder back into place and replaced the spring and plug. It was quite difficult to compress the spring back in to the hole. After finding the proper oil drain plug, I removed it and drained the oil. I put he plug back and filled with clean oil. I then started the ATV. It ran fine except for the clicking noise. Is there somewhere where I can view a schematic of this engine. VIN: P320065377. EIN: 83400756. Thanks for your assistance.

this is a looooooooooong shot, but what you described sounded like a hydraulic lifter. It makes no since to be in the bottom of the motor though. I'm not familiar with that bike, but I tried.

It has to be some type of a lifter otherwise it would not have had the spring. I was told that it was a Honda Motor when I bought it. Thanks for your help.
