antifreeze in gass
#1
Well winter will be here before we know it. It gets pretty cold up here and I always read to store your quad with a full tank of gas and an additive to make sure the moisture inside the tank doesn't freeze.
Being my first winter with my quad my question is does putting an additive like Sta-bil in the gas qualify as an "anti-freeze" for the gas??
Thanks guys

It gets pretty cold here in Michigan and I use Sta-Bil when I fill the gas cans and gas tank in winter. This will be my 11th winter storing a quad outside and I haven't had any problems with the gasline icing up or anything like that.

Yeah that Sta-bil stuff seems to work....... you can also help by making sure that the tank is filled to the very top with high octane fuel.... higher octane has more stabilizers built into it and will thus have less natural moisture in it. Filling it to the top leaves no place for the condensation to form.
Since water weighs more, the condensation forms on the walls of the tank and sinks to the bottom and right into your carb come spring...... so topping it off will do the most good.... adding the Stay-bil or similar is a nice insurance policy too.....
