Default 88 yamaha blaster

This blaster has the big bore kit in it which is piston,rings,jets(240 big bore). when sitting sounds like it has a lot of power but when i go to ride it, it really dont. I take off at full throttle and it slowly gets going faster but it is not right. Still running stock plug but going to try a going from a NGK 7 to a 9 today. Carb was totally cleaned when doing this. Not sure what size jet came with kit, but should i try bigger one? I also have to ride with air box cover off because when on it acts like a choke and seems like not getting enough air. Does anyone know where the air/fuel adjustment is supposed to be (how many turns)? Does the switch on top of carb have anything to do with it?

THANKS!!!

The switch on top of the carb is the tors unit. Alot of people disconnect them as they do have problems. The blasterforum.com has a write up on how to do it. You may find someone on their who has had the same prob and can help you out.
