Anyone ever add thumb switch and a solenoid to a champion winch? it has no solenoid now and is direct wired to the push button switch

That's funny. I have a 10 or 11 year old Warn that isn't "warn" out yet.

I have a Champion winch. I bought a rugged old switch from the local Honda dealer and cut the factory switch off the winch. Works like a charm. The Champion winch is rated at a high amp draw but you can't draw any more than your machine and battery puts out. The switch I am using is Superwinch rotary switch part #1591. I drilled 2 small holes in my handle bar and mounted it so I can easily operate it with my left thumb.
