Default Lights are dimming - please help

I have a strange problem. The lights on my ATV dim and flicker on and off after my engine gets to operating temperature. This happens to all lights including the speedometer light.

It acts like a short in the electrical wiring, but the lights work fine for about five minutes then they go hay wire. I have a new battery. It happened with the old battery too.

I have a Polaris Sportsman 500 HO.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

I could say buy a Honda but that would be flippant. I suspect a weak coil or weak magnito.

There is a voltage regulator that regulates the juice coming from the ATV's charging system. Sometimes if it is grounding out (shorting) it will do as you described. it can also do this if it is going bad. There should be testing procedures for your machines charging system in its sercive manual.
