baja extreme wont start

i bought a 2006 baja extreme. the people who we bought it from had turned it on but now we cant get it started. they said to open the choke, but when we tried it where he showed us was the choke, it still didnt start. i dont know if it was the choke that he showed us or if it was something else. if any one knows about this problem please help me. i dont know about carburatours. my husbad wanted this 4 wheeler. he told me he knew what to do but i dont think so

Are you sure you have spark? Remove the spark plug and hold it against the engine frame so that the threads on the spark plug are grounded. Connect the high tension lead and crank the engine. You should see a fat blue spark at the spark plug gap.
If you do not have spark then check all the kill switches (tether cord and left handlebar). On some models the one on the left handlebar has to be in the center position <u>and clicked in </u>before it will start.
