Default 2002 recon 250es carb issue

I have a 2002 recon 250 es that has a carburetor issue. I took it apart several times and cleaned all the fuel ports. There was fuel coming out the over flow tube, so I bought a kit with new jets and gaskets thinking it was the float valve not seating good. Once I put it back on, the same thing the unit fired up and ran breifly with giving it throttle, then fuel started flowing out the overflow tube again. I had tested the float and found no leaks or brakes in it, and the float is non- adjustable. I just ordered a new float, $38 with shipping, and have not received it yet. If that wont fix it I dont know what will. I have never had this much trouble with a carburetor, Im I missing something?
