2001 Honda Rancher need Help??
#1
Was riding for 2 hrs stopped and took short 5 min break. Left the 4 wheeler running. As soon as I got back on and pushed the throttle it died. Tried several times to start it wouldn't. Pulled it back to camp and tried to start, it cranked right up. Ran it for 2 hrs same thing happened, it wouldn't start. Now it will start and run on idle but as soon as I push throttle it dies. Is this a fuel filter or carb problem? Any thoughts, thanks for the help.

You can put a pan under the fuel drain hose on the carb , then open the fuel drain screw on the float bowl and let it run a little to see if it stops or slows down .. And you can check the vent and hose on the fuel cap .. You may have to remove the tank , remove the petcock to check the fuel filter ..
2 hours is a long time to run for a plugged vent , depending on how fast your driving a plugged vent will usually only give you maybe 20 minutes ..

There was a little trash in the tank when i pulled it off. I let carb bowl drain, it drained fine. Blew air through hoses going to tank. I hope this fixed it thanks for the help. Is there any chance this could be a coil problem?
