2008 Polaris Scrambler - Removal of "Reverse Limiter" and Bypass Override Switch
#1
I have two 2008 Polaris Scramblers and have successfully removed the Reverese Limiter module and bypassed the Reverse Override Switch.
The reason I needed to remove the Reverse Limiter module is because the connector to the module is not water tight and would restrict RPM while Forward and going through water.
The proceedure will do three things:
1) Allow 4x4 operation in reverse without pressing the Reverse Override button,
2) Diable the RPM limiter when in reverse, so the button does is not needed,
3) Allow total removal of the Reverse Limiter module.
The proceedure involves cutting and reconnecting three wires as follows:
1) Under the hood at the wire harness bundle, cut the Violet coming from the Reverse Override Switch,
2) Under the hood at the wire harness bundle, cut the Gray/White Strip wire coming from the Reverse Override Switch,
3) Solder a diode between the two wire ends just cut. Solder the cathode to the Gray/White wire end (not connected to the switch) and solder the anode end to the Violet wire end (not connected to the switch),
4) Under the hood at the wire harness bundle, cut the Brown/White Strip wire from the Reverse Limiter Module and connect to frame ground,
5) Remove the Reverse Limiter Module and make the connector water tight.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
