Polaris 700 Sportsman EFI fuel pump
#11
The fuel pump problem i had on my '04 700 is fixed. The Airtex E8198 fuel pump cross references over to a Carter P72193 pump here in canada. Still a little better in price at $190. The Airtex FS 111 strainer crosses over to Carter STS209 for under $20 bucks.

I can get you a OEM fule pump for $150 pluss shipping....
it is way cheaper then the $500 polaris wants for a new gas tank and it only takes about 5 min to replace after you pull the sending unit out of the tank...

I tried this route. I have a 2006 sportsman 500 efi.
I removed the fuel pump assembly from the tank and..
I removed the fuel pump from the assembly..
The pump is quite different from the E8198. Not compatible.
So... I advise you visually match the old and new pumps before being committed to payment.
I bought the tank/pump assembly from Babbit. Ugh.

I also have a 2007 X2. I checked and the fuel pump in this one DOES seem to match the E8198.
But... It looks like a bit of a task to replace the pump into the pump assembly. You will need cinch connectors for the tubes. (I would not use hose clamps on these pressure lines).
