Making Artic Cat TRV a Mud Pro
#1
Buying all the parts off of my Artic Cat dealer to put a snorkel on my 2010 TRV H2 1000 . The parts list is off of a 2011 1000cc Mud Pro. Was wondering if any one has attempted or done this ? My knowledge of atv mechanics is better than average but I am second guessing myself on wether i should try intalling all the hoses and snorkel myself or let my dealer do it . All the parts come to $190.78 which is reasonable , but I am sure this bill would double if I pay labor.

Just a general answer and something to maybe think about and I only say this because you say you're second guessing yourself.
It might be double the cost to have the dealer do it now but that beats 3, 4, 5x the cost when you puke the motor 'cause something wasn't put together just right and THEN you have to have the dealer fix it. And, if you have the dealer do the install and then something happens...it happened because THEY did it wrong (read warranty).
I tend to error on the side of caution. So far it has saved me time, money, and agrivation in the long run.

Isn't the Mud Pro just a regular ATV but snorkeled and larger aggressive tires from the show room? Most People get the stuff to snorkel a ATV from there neighborhood hardware store with 1-1/2" PVC pipes then you just vent your diff breathers lines into the air box or pipes.
What does a dealer sell the parts for? I,m sure the tires are much cheaper online also.
