leakdown tester brand?

I would get whatever is cheapest. It's not rocket science. It's just two gauges and a regulator and a hose fitting that goes in the head.
I made my own and used it for years. All it was, was a hose with a fitting made out of an old sparkplug. I used the aircompressor regulator to adjust airpressure. I didn't need %'s. I just wanted to know where the leak was coming from.
What did I like about it? It cost me less than 5 bucks!!!

This one looks pretty cool too me:
Amazon.com: Cylinder Leak - Down Tester: Automotive
Comes in a pretty cool red case too. Reveiwer said it was cool. Even say's "Cylinder leak down tester" on the front of it just in cast I bump my head and
forget what it was!!
But if you have to have the coolest looking leakdown gauge on the block; I mean the one Smokey Yunick, Grumpy Jenkins and Jack Roush would get into a knock down drag out no rules barred 10 round cage fight over; here is the MAC DADDY of all leakdown gauges:
Moroso High Performance Cylinder Leakdown Tester 89603 on eBay!
But yet again, the 500 bucker model dosen't really do anything more than the less than 100 buck model.
Just messing with you. I have to top one and it works just fine.

I'm certain that if you've got a slightly leaky engine the mere sight of that MOROSO contraption will seal it up
It's like needing an aspirin and taking a general anesthetic.
I'm waiting for several quotes but I'd be well pleased with the Amazon one.
It probably does everything it states on the box
My dad bought this cool contraption for testing ignition coils and such.
Along came electronic ignition with rev limiters incapsulated and Hey Presto it's a state of the art "Dust Collector"!!!

I actually use one of them on my buddies race car with an outdated engine that nobody makes any aftermarket ign for!!

Anyway, you still might have to make a fitting for your head. I could never find an insert for those real little plugs my 700 has.

Took me about two hours and two center punches destroyed to get the ceramic knocked out.
Wear googles and be careful if you have to go this route.Good luck and I hope you get no huricane out the intake, exhaust or breather!!!
