Default Cleaned air filter now running weird

Cleaned air filter with dish soapy water let it dry for about an hr then sprayed air filter oil on it let it dry for about 30 min then drove and it ran like crap took the filter out and drove up the driveway and back and it was fine Should I it dry more? When I pulled it put I didn't realize the back was still a little damp

I'd do the process over again. After the soapy water use clean water, squeeze excess water out, don't twist the filter and let it dry thoroughly, then apply filter oil. If you have to do frequent cleanings, get another filter and keep it in a plastic bag for ready use.

Okay I tried this and it's still doing this i tried a short drive up the driveway with no filter and it still did it. Mid gear it has a popping sound and looses power, sometimes it also sounds almost like backfire

The gas vent tube keeps falling off could that be an issue? The cap still has a hole in it but I know that could possibly still cause a problem

Sounds like you need to go through the carb if it does it with or with out the filter. Gas vent tube falling off shouldn't hurt as long as the tank vent is open and you haven't allowed water into the tank.
