Default Suzuki Lt-F250 Rebuild

Gidday team
I recently brought a Lt-f250 2x4 for hunting, however I got what I payed for an rather than buying New parts a decided it would be a better option to by a second quad and build one out of the two. Everythings been going great until now..... I've pretty much done the full reassembly and have started gunning into problems with getting the gears to work the way they used to? I seem to be out of adjustment on the cable and no matter what I do I can't change up gears? Also I haven't been able to start it, it turns over and it has spark but won't fire... Could I have mucked something up when I put the engine bac. Together? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Cheers.

Start at the basics. You have to have spark, fuel, air and compression. You've got spark so that eliminates this. Check compression next. Should be at least 130 psi or more for this size engine. If not could be a top end problem,piston/ring to cylinder clearance, leaking valves. Plus even though you have spark,if cam timing is off,it won't start or run properly. Also has to have a good fuel supply to the carb and clean air filter. Just eliminate one area at a time.
