Default Mystery "Button"?

I just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350cc quad. I am going through and fixing some ratty looking wiring and I found what looks to be 2 wires coming from a wiring harness with a black plastic end and what looks to be a button on the end. This thing is hanging from the front of the quad in between the wheels. I followed it up and it goes to the wiring harness near the bars/speedometer. Any idea what this could be for?? I would post a picture but since I am a new member I don't think I am able.

Brake light stop switch? See if there is a space for it on the left brake lever assy. Either that or a reverse switch button if it has a reverse.

I had one of those. The reverse switch is connected to the foot brake if you want to know that one also. I rode the thing for a year with out reverse not knowing it was not hooked up. LOL
